No Holds Barred
A Wake up call is getting stronger.
Astrology, once again, is the talisman for the ages. Today we have an enormous energy staring at us directly, but most importantly into and through our hearts and souls. Here it is…
The Sun will eclipse partially tomorrow morning at 6:55 AM. This time the Moon dances briefly between our Earth and the Sun to give a moment of pause…or the calm before the storm. This celestial event happens at 9 degrees, 00 minutes in the Constellation of Aries at exactly a place of union (or conjunction) of the planet Eris.
Possibly, you have not heard of Eris, a dwarf planet, roughly the size of Pluto and with a remarkable, elliptical trajectory around our Sun into the darkness of the outer reaches of our solar system. Eris requires 556 years to orbit completely around our Sun. Astrology and Astronomy have only known of her existence since 2006…just 19 years.
Make no mistake…her influence on our planet and on every person is profound. Everyone on the planet right now has Eris sitting in Aries in their natal mandala. Eris influence is that Aries signature of a fiery nature for all, with the only change is that her fire comes to fruition in different aspects of our life experience…(ie…where in our lives do we see Eris energy play itself out? In Astrology we refer to these life areas as "Houses".)
Eris is showing up with fiery Aries in one of the 12 areas of human life influence all around the planet now.
What is this Eris energy? This planet has a connection to two well-known planet influencers. Mars and Pluto can be thought of as her brother and cousin energy. The mythological idea of Eris comes from the story of Eris, the goddess of strife and discord who willingly participated with her brother, Aries (or Mars), the god of war, in battle. Her story offers that she would follow after Mars' carnage to specifically and methodically seek out warriors still alive and complete the killing. In addition to the finality and power of Mars energy, the influence of Pluto here is most compelling for us. Not only is Eris energy one of the feminine warrior, but with the plutonic depth of transformative experience only gained through making way through darkness…as her long elliptical journey shows us. Pluto sits on the edge of our solar system, Eris pushes its boundaries.
What is our message from Eris? Eris signature energy is one of long-held patience, endurance, persistence with a "no holds barred"* fight for continued existence…up to and including making a stand for what one believes even to the point of violent action. This energy is evocative of the fight for survival.
Ultimately, Eris forces herself into our psyches so we must be confronted with the principle of the necessary harshness to achieve survival. It is important to note here that we are now being asked to recognize the fullness of the strife-bringing warrior archetype. In fact, for a short time, Eris was first named "Xena" as in the Hollywood icon of the same name. No longer can we live in the illusion that complete commitment to survival is solely a male archetype.
Today, I'm asking you to take a few moments to sit with this eclipse energy. All eclipses are powerful points of pause and reset. This one is asking you to walk through the door to a new commitment to your feminine warrior. While this may prove uncomfortable…it is supposed to be…that is Eris energy. A caution is appropriate here. I am not suggesting we act on the violent nature of Eris any more than advising those with prominent Mars energy to do so. Take a look at where Eris sits in your natal mandala….where does she push your buttons for transforming and becoming?
We might see it as Henry Selzer penned in his entry work into the psychology of Eris…"she is likened to the feminist struggle for survival rights in a patriarchal society".
Eris will not be undone or outdone or easily dismissed. The time has come…if you've been waiting for a sign, this is it.
I offer the edgy side of Eris to promote that in our hearts we know the answer to the following questions…
…What do you commit to (and I mean, "no holds barred" commitment)?
…Where in your life experience do you commit your heart and soul?
…What can be compromised, and most fully, what cannot?
The door is open and waiting for you…🌠
